Security Officer Job assignments:The responsibilities of the security guard will vary depending on the employer. Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. A department store security guard will help to guard against theft, while helping to keep the overall environment secure. A parking lot security guard will patrol parking lots in order to deter criminal activities including robberies, car thefts and assaults. The goal is to detect, deter, observe and report. Security Officer Job Duties: Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry. Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
