Laboratory Researcher II - (New Brunswick, NJ)

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Laboratory Researcher II for the EPMA Laboratory in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS). Reporting to the principal investigator, the incumbent in this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations, supervision of operations, development of methods, and maintenance of the JEOL-JAX-8200 Electron Microprobe (EPMA). This is a service position and the major focus of the laboratory is primarily planetary and meteoritic research, but also includes a wide array of terrestrial igneous and metamorphic to anthropological and material sciences-related studies. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Performs daily maintenance standards. Develops and maintaining analytical standards. Trains and works with diverse internal and external users on the instrument and provides technical assistance in order to obtain high quality analytical and imaging data. Conducts professional services based on user charges.
