Statistician - (Washington, NC)

Description of Work Salary Grade 68 - Recruitment range $36,761 - $40,927 The Statistician I will work with the Coastal Angling Program within the License and Statistics Section. Primary assignments include the administration of mail surveys to target members of the recreational angling community that participate in traditionally underrepresented fisheries including: cast net and seine use, flounder gigging, and shellfish harvest (clams, oysters, scallops, and blue crab). Additional assignments include the administration of an access point creel survey to estimate effort and catch for anadromous species (striped bass and shad). Data analytics and associated deliverables will be provided and communicated to Division biologists, academics, stakeholders, and the general public. Methodological evaluation and modification is continuous to maximize efficacy and efficiency of these data collection programs and subsequent statistical analyses.
