Underwriter, GAP Insurance - (Madison, WI)

This position is responsible for underwriting and loss control activities for assigned accounts within authority levels, specifically around the GAP product. This position will prepare and underwrite existing and new business. The key focus is to identify all risks and exposures, implement appropriate solutions, and properly price files/risks. This position will serve as a risk assessment resource for other underwriters, and assist other underwriters in the development of risk assessment knowledge. Job responsibilities: Evaluate customer risks and exposures for assigned product line(s) Apply underwriting knowledge, judgment, and appropriate underwriting philosophy to determine what details is needed Review new policy applications, declaration pages, questionnaires and other support documents for completeness of details Underwrite policies up to predetermined amount Provide training and consultation to sales partners and customers regarding insurance policies.
