Pharmacy Buyer - (Wakefield, RI)
- High-school or GED The Pharmacy Buyer is responsible for procurement of pharmaceuticals and supplies with independent determination of stock levels to assure inventory management for the entire scope of pharmacy operations. Inventory must be maintained without exceeding budget allowances. Authorized and executes authority to initiate all orders for pharmaceuticals and supplies according to South County Health guidelines, Federal laws, Rhode Island state laws and DEA qualifications. Ensures cost effective turnover of inventory must be consistently identified through sound accounting practices. High-school diploma. Min 3 yrs of pharmacy procurement background (hospital background preferred). Technician level II designation required, with national certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Technician level I staff must receive a level II license within 6 months of hire and annually thereafter.Prior background in health system pharmacy is preferred.
