Research & Development Engineer/Scientist - (Des Plaines, IL)

The applicants will perform elemental analyses using a wide variety of instrumental techniques to measure the elemental composition of catalysts, catalyst supports, and hydrocarbons. Techniques include ICP, ICPMS, combustion (CHN) in an industrial analytical laboratory and an expertise to master new analytical equipment and protocols in support of UOP processes. Additional responsibilities include instrument calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting, and the expertise to undertake numerous tests with consistency and accuracy and problem-solving skills. Strong issue solving abilities are essential, including the expertise to understand the elements of analytical procedures, evaluate data, participate in technical discussions, perform investigation of unexpected results and develop alternative plans. External Requirements Basic Applicant Requirements: A B.S degree in Chemistry or related position, 1-three years of background in ICP preferred. Good verbal and written correspondence abilities
