Engineer Sr. / Specialist / Principal - D481 Waterfont Engineering - Ship - (Chicago, IL)

The successful applicant will be an experienced engineer responsible for supporting the D481 Waterfront Engineering - Ship Systems Department. The engineer will work in a fluid systems engineering group (e.g. seawater & compressed gases, freshwater & ventilation, hydraulics or diesel & aux) for VIRGINIA Class submarines under new construction. This work includes deck-plate support of trades, troubleshooting, supporting emergent shipyard issues, engineering resolution of engineering reports (ERs), test inspection reports (TIRs), comprehensive problem reports (CPRs), and vendor details requests (VIRs) for the lead design yard. The engineer is responsible for the technical content and quality of all work performed, maintaining training qualifications, and supporting the shipyard in achieving scheduled major milestones.
