Police Officer Testing Interest - (Ogden, UT)

Ogden City recruits year round for the position of Police Officer. Applicants must have a high-school diploma or GED; a valid driver's license; possess, or have the expertise to obtain the National Peace Officer Selection Certificate. Possession of a P.O.S.T. Category I or II Certification or a degree with the emphasis in law enforcement with a minor that would enhance the officer's social awareness is desired. Testing is conducted when needed and applicants are notified electronically when the process is opened for applications. We hire approx five to 10 applicants per year. Ogden City Police Officers work ten hour days, 40 hours per week. There are 7 shifts that cover the city 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Police Officers respond to everything from serious felony assaults to citizen assists and traffic enforcement to keeping the peace. Police Officers undergo continual training to refresh their skills. There are also opportunities to advance.
