Position overview Amgen's ten - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a aggressive compensation. Relocation in the form of a miscellaneous allowance will be provided for eligible candidates. This internship is within the Department of Cardiometabolic Disorders at the Amgen South San Francisco site. The intern will join a project team investigating the function of sarcomeric genes associated with cardiac arrhythmias using induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) derived cardiomyocytes. The intern will need to apply the skills learned while learning new ones from hands on background supporting real projects under the guidance of highly trained scientists. The completion of this internship will expose the applicant to the process of target validation and drug discovery.
