Design Engineer I - (Olympia, WA)

Job DescriptionAs a Design Engineer I at TGP you will demonstrate generally accepted drafting practices in conjunction with knowledge of Technical Glass Products (TGP’s) product lines to independently create drawings and related support documents. Through extensive use of AutoCad, Inventor and other design software, you will create customer approval drawings, related fabrication drawings and bills of materials. These may include: 2D/3D models, assembly or part drawings and exploded view animations through manual translation of architect’s plans or specifications. Successful applicants will be able to draw from their mechanical knowledge and industry background in manufacturing processes; which may include CNC, welding, fabrication, and/or info of the window and door hardware industry. You will collaborate together with internal manufacturing personnel and external vendors to oversee the creation of parts. Extensive use of ms excel to create pricing spreadsheets and other calculation tools is required.
