Art Director - (Birmingham, AL)

We are seeking an individual to be responsible for creating and overseeing the general visual look of the magazine. This individual will design all layouts for each issue from start to finish while maintaining aggressive deadlines. Some duties include providing on-set direction of photography for magazine-cover photo shoots, as well as updates on art and edit flow to Managing Editor. We prefer 5+ years of background working on a national publication or related product. Must have a Bachelor of Arts/Graphic Design or related degree and a thorough understanding of the Mac OSX operating system and Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. This individual must have effective communication and management skills and the expertise to work as part of a team. Understanding prepress production for a 4-color magazine is required.
