Research Assistant (Dental Research) - (Iowa City, IA)
The University of Iowa, College of Dentistry is searching for a full time Research Assistant. Will provide research assistance for Dr. Brad Amendts lab by organizing, caring for and obtaining tissue from multiple mouse colonies. Prepare and analyze genotyping results. Prepare DNA and RNA samples for analysis. Clone new DNA molecules. Prepare, purify and do quality control on DNA clones. Perform tissue culture and cell based experiments. Do tissue processing and analysis. Participate and contribute to research team committed to addressing basic science questions pertaining to cranio-facial and dental development, including communicating ideas, presenting results at local meetings and developing new ideas.REQUIRES:Bachelors degree in biology, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and relevant background.Typically requires 6 mons background including: DNA Cloning, or PCR
