Firefighter/Paramedic CITY OF ALPENA FIREFIGHTER/ PARAMEDICThe City of Alpena is accepting applications for the position of full time Firefighter - Paramedic. Min application qualifications include being a high-school graduate, min age 18, Michigan Firefighter I and II, Michigan licensed paramedic. An acceptable driving history and clean criminal history are required for consideration. Applications will be accepted from applicants who are licensed Emergency Medical Technicians in the internship phase of paramedic education through Michigan-approved education program. Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree, applicable background as determined by the City, and military service. Prior to appointment, applicants must have successfully completed the Applicant Physical Expertise Test (CPAT), the results of which shall be recognized within the 24 mnths preceding appointment. If hired, residency is required within twenty miles per PA 212 of 1999.
