M:STL- SeniorAge Grant Writer VISTA - (Springfield, MO)

SeniorAge serves seventeen counties in southwest Missouri. We provide resources and advocacy for seniors (60) who wish to remain living independently and living well. We operate 36 community centers for seniors open 8-4, Monday-Friday. These centers offer a donation-based noon meal and numerous programs designed to enhance senior living: wellness programs, social interaction, arts and music, etc. These 36 centers then operate as hubs of service to the surrounding community - coordinating programs of care for in-home assistance, delivering meals, etc. The majority of our funding comes through federal and state government allotments. Each of our programs requires careful compliance to a variety of governmental guidelines. As a result of the VISTA member's service, seniors and other citizens of SWMO in poverty-stricken situations will be better served by the employees of SeniorAge in the areas of healthcare, general health and wellness, and overall life enhancement.
