Microbiologist - (Escondido, CA)

The Microbiologist will carry out all duties related to the microbiological program including management of brewer's yeast. Additional cross training will include other quality analytical methods. This position will require availability to work any shift and/or weekends. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Assignments include the following. Performs standardized microbiological testing on all beer and beer ingredients including raw materials and contact surfaces in all areas of production. Collect sterile samples, perform culture plating functions and read-analyze-interpret culture plates and PCR readings for microbial analyses. Manage the brewer's yeast program by monitoring yeast health and maintaining yeast cultures. Perform microscopic inspection and identification of yeasts, bacterium, molds, and fungi and make recommendations regarding cleaning protocols. Generate and monitor ATP swab data. Work with QA and Production personnel to determine root cause and possible solutions for microbial issues.
