Overview GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the direct supervision of the Department Administrator or designee, the Research Laboratory Aide II performs routine laboratory cleaning and other general laboratory duties in support of research experiments. Responsibilities MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Collect, wash, and autoclave glassware, pipets, and miscellaneous laboratory supplies and return them to the appropriate laboratories Order general laboratory supplies and maintain inventory Maintain general cleanliness of the laboratory and monitor glassware washing equipment Maintain cleanliness of the lunch and seminar rooms Collect, wash, and return lab coats to the appropriate laboratories Perform basic library reference searches Enter data into the department and/or the Umass Medical School accounting system Comply with all safety and infection control standards appropriate to this position Perform other duties as minimum experience required REQUIREMENTS: High-school diploma or equivalent background Must be capable
