## Posting Summary:The laboratory of Dr. Shu Man Fu in the Department of Medicine Center for Immunity, Inflammation and Regenerative Medicine is seeking a Research Scientist in a field of molecular and cell biology with focus on autoimmunity, specifically in regards to systemic lupus erythematosus and related end organ renal disease. The employee in this position investigates the conditions under which the immune system appears to exert harmful effects on the host, the genes influencing these diseases, antibodies and proteins present in the body and lymphocytes reacting with these proteins. These studies allow us to understand factors responsible for the initiation and progression of autoimmune disease and to discover methods to treat/prevent them. This position will function with a high degree of independence, expertise to execute and interpret experiments on a daily basis with limited supervisory input.
