Engineering Manager - VTES - (Blacksburg, VA)

Reporting to the Director of Electric Service at Virginia Tech Electric Service (VTES) the Engineering Manager supervises and coordinates all engineering activities in support of the distribution of electricity on the VTES System on the Virginia Tech Campus and for VTES customers within the Town of Blacksburg. The Engineering Manager will promote reliable operation of the VTES distribution system through identifying and engineering needed expansion and maintenance of the VTES system, development of appropriate procedures, support of routine and emergency maintenance, and monitoring and maintenance of a sound preventative maintenance program. Supervises engineering staff in VTES. Supports development of budgets by keeping abreast of and contributing discussion of issues such as system demand, supplier demand, and electric industry rate setting practices. The incumbent will work to develop a collaborative relationship with other units within Facilities and with campus customers.
