DESCRIPTION: Under direction and guidance, this role creates clear, complete and accurately finished drawings from rough or detailed sketches or layout drawings for production or assembly of parts. RESPONSIBILITIES: Modifies 3-D models and drawings according to detailed instructions in an engineering change request. Uses computer aided design and modeling software to create drawings per the design engineer’s mark-ups, following the company drafting standards. Enters detailed notes and updates the drawing’s change record in the computer system to track the progress and history of the change request. Creates drawings of parts and components with angles and surface views for manuals and training aids. Discusses new drawings and changes as needed with engineers, field services, machine shop and other areas to ensure accuracy. Networks with other resources to ensure teamwork and support during the process.
