SECURITY GUARD - University Police Department - (Pittsburgh, PA)

Job Function: Carnegie Mellon University is looking for a Security Guard. The Security Guard is responsible for conducting watchperson rounds of university buildings and areas to ensure the safety and security of the campus, the assigned sector, and its occupants/users. This includes reporting suspicious activity, persons and conditions immediately; providing escorts to students, staff and faculty members; providing general assistance to campus police officers and traffic monitors on request; and providing general info to university personnel and visitors. This role will be responsible for performing foot patrol on campus grounds in all weather conditions and temperatures. The right applicant for this position will have excellent people skills, and will be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, in order to interact with a diverse community campus.
