Volunteer Coordinator - Animal Care Services - (Indianapolis, IN)

Job summary This position is open to internal Animal Care Services employees only Position is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating the volunteer program for the Department of Business and Neighborhood Services (BNS) - Animal Care Services. The incumbent will plan, organize, administer and coordinate programs for the utilization of volunteers and collaborate closely with the Public Info Officer (PIO) to recruit, engage and enhance volunteer resources. Position duties Organizes and maximizes the effectiveness of the current volunteer program and ensure program operates in accord with BNS needs and objectives. Serves as a member of the Department of Business and Neighborhood Services Communications team. Responsible for maintaining city and department communication plans through outreach efforts. Will participate in city and departmental communication operations during identified events and incidents. Will represent the city, department, and division during outreach activities.
