Computational Biologist - High Throughput Screening via Image Analysis Job - (Lynchburg, VA)

Seeking Computational Biologist with Perl or Python background to maintain and further develop proprietary automated high throughput image analysis and data summarization pipeline to facilitate cyto profiling for drug discovery. Activities: *** Support company biologists to identify optimal methods to extract quantitative multi-variate details from pictures of complex biological samples and incorporate appropriate algorithms and statistical tests into high throughput analysis platforms to robustly quantify novel biology in High Throughput Screens. *** Maintenance and further develop custom laboratory info management system infrastructure, consisting of Oracle relational database, web interfaces, high performance computing nodes, online storage, network, and Linux and Windows servers. *** Conduct high content image analysis and quantitative analysis of cell based assays in a high throughput setting, and apply data classification and statistical approaches to analysis of large data sets.
