Engineering Assistant I, II, or III - Traffic Safety Division - (Austin, TX)

The essential duties for this job include: Actively prepares for professional engineering licensing/registration through appropriate training and exams and completion/maintenance of required documentation. Applies engineering principles, methods and techniques to a wide variety of traffic engineering/operations-related activities. Participates in Career Development for the Engineering Assistants program which includes job rotation, training and continuing-ed. Collects engineering data at project sites. Performs engineering-related duties in the field of transportation engineering, using automated roadway programs and computer-assisted design and engineering systems. Performs other position assignments as assigned. Engineering Assistant I All of the above plus: Assists in research and issue solving of engineering-related problems and assists in documenting findings. Assists with traffic analysis and data collections.
