Position description: The Support Assistant - Inpatient, under the direction of the Department Manager, provides secretarial support in all aspects including greeting of patients/ families and visitors, communication ( written or phone), patient processing (ie. registration, order entry, scheduling, billing ) and as liaison between departmental licensed professionals and patients, families, referring physicians and business associates. The support assistant performs clerical functions to maintain the integrity of the medical record ( written and electronic) within the EMR, and/ or RIS and PACS systems, ensuring the timely delivery of results and correspondence to patients, referring physicians and other licensed caregivers.
