Engineering Technician - (Augusta, GA)

DESCRIPTION This class is responsible for providing support to Engineering staff. Incumbents assist in the design of projects, compile data for projects, and prepare reports and other correspondence. Reports to the Engineer Manager or other designated person. Works with co-workers, outside engineers, developers, contractors, utility agencies, and the public to provide operational support. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in the designs using Computer Aided Drafting system. Compiles data for design projects to include maps, right of way research, and existing utilities. Studies field conditions and analyzes data collected by field research. Prepares various reports regarding project status. MIN QUALIFICATIONS Education: High-school diploma or GED Background: 2 (2) years background related to civil design and construction background.
