Metallurgist / Process Engineer - Steel Mill EAF Melt Shop - (Portage, IN)

In this position you will work with Process and Product Development is a steel industry Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) Melt Shop. Requirements include a BS in Metallurgy and relevant background. LOCATION: Portage, Indiana INDUSTRY: Steel Industry METALLURGIST / PROCESS ENGINEER – EAF MELT SHOP DESCRIPTION This is a “hands-on” position that requires close collaboration with Melt Shop Operations personnel • Review and update SOPs to meet safety/quality/cost goals • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions. • Manage the scarfing and slab release processes. • Lead investigations relating to missed chemistries, clogging, slab surface, customer claims and other quality related issues. • Develop and maintain automated data collection / analysis systems. • Maintain and verify melt shop production data. REQUIREMENTS BS Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related position and 3+ years of background in an EAF Melt Shop. COMPENSATION Competitive pay and Benefits REFERENCE# LTS-651
