Utilization Manager - UNCH Care Management - (Chapel Hill, NC)

Position: Utilization Manager Hours: Monday- Friday (12 noon - 830pm to include some holidays work) Works in collaboration with the patient/family, andinterdisciplinary team (including physicians, other care providers, andpayors), and assesses the patient care progression from acute care episodethrough post discharge for quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. The Utilization Manager works collaborativelywith other Care Management staff to ensure patient needs are met and caredelivery is coordinated across the continuum. Actively participates in daily unit-based patient progression roundswith the care team. RESPONSIBILITY WILL INCLUDE UM COVERAGE OF 1MEM OBS UNIT& 4WST OUTPATIENT UNIT. Responsibilitiesinclude: To complete admission,continued stay, and discharge reviews in accordance with federal regulationsand the Hospitals' Utilization Management Plan. To ensure revenue protection byreconciling physician orders, Patient Class, and medical necessity.
