Shelter Veterinarian The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin, a progressive and growing shelter, is seeking a full time shelter veterinarian. We are a private non-profit shelter with municipal contracts and an annual intake of 3000 animals with less than 10% euthanasia. On staff are 2 full time CVTs with 5+ years of experience in shelter medicine along with both full time and part time veterinary assistants. The veterinarian will split time both in the shelter clinic attending to the shelter and foster animals and in the spay/neuter clinic. The spay/neuter clinic provides services for the shelter animals, local rescue groups, and members of the public. They will also provide guidance to the other departments on proper disease prevention and animal care. All the medical and surgical treatments of the shelter animals are at the full discretion of the shelter veterinarians within the department budget/means.
