Accounting Technician II - (Snow Hill, NC)

Description of Work Salary Grade: GN08 Recruitment Range: $33,960 - $57,493 This position is located at Eastern Correctional Institution in Greene County, NC. Duties of this position are to monitor and control all institutional expenditures and assist the Administrative Officer in performing all fiscal transactions at the facility. Maintains general ledger which will include pertinent budget info for all purchase orders, requisitions and contracts so that current amounts expended and encumbered can be accessed as needed. This position assists with monitoring and balancing the institutional budget. This position deals frequently with institutional staff, particularly institutional management from the Custody and Programs sections for the processing of purchase orders as well as backup to Inmate Banking. The position monitors all Welfare expenditures, expense vouchers, telephone invoices and contracts. Responsible for payment of contractual staff and serves as facility timekeeper.
