Director - Economic Development - (Port Charlotte, FL)
General Summary & Main responsibilities Under the direction of the Board of County Commissioners, the Economic Development Director performs highly responsible, professional, administrative and managerial work researching, developing, implementing, monitoring, assessing and, if necessary, adjusting a comprehensive Economic Development Plan (EDP) that will proactively recruit and assist prospective and/or existing businesses to locate/expand in Charlotte County. Work involves significant inter- and intra-governmental, business, professional association, media, and public contact. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Researches and develops a comprehensive Economic Development Plan (EDP) to locate/expand businesses in Charlotte County. Secures organizational commitment from the Board of County Commissioners and County Administration on the economic development plan, ordinances, resolutions, Enterprise Charlotte, and economic development initiatives.
