Buyer - (Fairview, PA)

The Buyer purchases raw materials, Repair and Operations (MRO) items from suppliers to achieve shipment, margin, quality and inventory goals. REQUIRED FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. • Expedites parts and materials: processes and obtains info from Material Requisition Planning (MRP) messages; controls excess inventory, processes shortage and open order vendor reports. • Determines method of procurement such as direct or distributor purchase. • Orders, quotes, reschedules, and cancels parts and materials from MRP and enters info into computer. Maintains accurate procurement records such as service purchased, costs, delivery and inventories in MRP system. • Negotiates pricing for blanket agreements, annual contracts and supplier support programs. • Plans, schedules, and monitors movement of materials through the production cycle using company spreadsheets.
