Certified Sterile Processing Technician General Description: Under the direct supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager, responsible for decontamination, assembly and preparation, sterilization, and distribution of medical instruments and supplies to the operating room and minor equipment items throughout the hospital.Required responsibilities: - Works in the decontamination area to receive and wash all contaminated instruments and equipment items using proper washing techniques.- Assembles surgical trays and packs according to established protocols.Examines and inspects instruments for contamination before packaging.Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instruments - - Participates in the sterilization process
