Chief Financial Officer - (Missoula, MT)

Leadership: Assists the General Manager and others in evaluating, formulating, and implementing policies and programs. Participates in the development, evaluation, and implementation of the Cooperatives strategic plan. Fosters a culture of excellence and a work atmosphere that encourages team player ownership. Accounting and Internal Controls: Develops the Cooperatives budget utilizing its work plan for approval by the General Manager. Coordinates the annual audit by the independent auditing firm. Oversees internal controls to provide effective control and safeguarding of Cooperative assets. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and county tax laws and preparation of tax statements required of the Cooperative. The CFO represents MEC in various capacities with other utilities and agencies, serving to promote positive member relations in the community. The CFO also nurtures contact within the industry and keeps abreast of current accounting and taxation trends and all applicable laws and regulations.
