The Senior Underwriter’s foremost responsibility is to underwrite individual risks through a demonstration of the following skills and abilities: - Determines terms and conditions and complex rating plans - Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures - Fundamentals of coverage, terms and conditions . Expertise to offer coverage, terms and conditions which generate a profit for the Company while meeting the needs of the customer. - Actuarial fundamentals . Expertise to understand loss trends, loss triangles, and ratemaking. Expertise to quantify risk based on background history and forecasting methods. - Risk Assessment . Expertise to identify risk exposures, special or common hazards, and appropriate controls. Expertise to select risk based on exposure and risk analysis. Expertise to analyze claims and quantify losses. - Knowledge of insurance industry - Internet usage - Negotiation skills - 5-7yrs underwriting background - Guides and mentors junior staff.
