Video Editor & Assistant Producer - (Chicago, IL)

JOB PURPOSE: Explaining a concept or tell a story through video, audio and graphics. The Video Editor and Assistant Producer will assemble materials such as graphics, photography, dialogue, raw camera footage, sound effects and other special effects into a finished product with quality, length or production acceptable for broadcasting. Help with logistics for coordinating shots. Video news release, b-roll, etc Collaboration with sound engineers, writers, and web designers. Coordinating approval process. Assuring that patient confidentiality is preserved or proper releases are in place. Responsibilities will also include but are not limited to cutting shot sequences to various angles; studying scripts; editing video to include sound effects, dialogue, music and other elements; correcting errors; selecting shots for each scenes suitable for the story line; verifying time codes and key numbers; choosing specific visual effects
