Mental Health Counselor - Connections, New Ulm (FullTime) JOB OVERVIEW: The staff member's primary duty includes providing supervision and support service to the Connections Program residents. Offer skill building services and supervision/structure to children while they are placed at Greater Minnesota Family Services' Connections Program. 50% Counseling and 50% Direct Care. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree in human services field and equivalent work background. Background: At least 2yrs of work background in residential setting working with at risk youth is preferred. Compensation: Pay ranges are based on education and background. Skills & Knowledge: Familiar with a variety of counseling techniques and theories related to mental health issues of children and families such as behavior modifications, decision making skills, anger management, social skills, leisure, self-esteem and basic home budgeting. Being able to provide guidance and leadership to children and complete all required tasks.
