Utility Operator - (Lawrence, KS)

MUNICIPAL SERVICES & OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT PAY RANGE: $18.35 TO $26.23 PER HOUR DOQ (STARTING SALARY AT ENTRY-LEVEL OF PAY RANGE) RESPONSIBILITIES Depending upon the area assigned, this position performs skilled, semi-skilled, technical and/or manual labor work involving equipment/electrical maintenance; process operations of water/wastewater treatment facilities and other utility facilities; and/or installation and repair of water/wastewater lines. Utility Operator activities may include use of computer technology; sampling and laboratory analysis; operation of heavy equipment and vehicles, plant equipment; and maintenance and repair of equipment, buildings, and grounds. This position may require rotating shift work and emergency response, depending on assignment. REQUIREMENTS High-school certificate or GED equivalent required.
