Job ID 667 Location Somerset, Massachusetts Organization Electric Maintenance and Construction Department OPS OVERHEAD SOUTHEAST Job Purpose The apprentice line classification is comprised of a applicant who has successfully completed the overhead pre-line school and the Field Assessment Test. This will determine if the employee has the expertise to progress in the Overhead Lines Department. All other duties usually assigned to this classification. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Applicant must become proficient at climbing poles and working at heights. Assist line crews, utilizing lineworker tools and equipment to set poles and construct transmission lines. Observes, learns and performs duties of Line Worker 3/C under direct supervision. WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Exposure to inclement weather and temperature extremes.
