Overview Volunteer Services is a community-based service that provides free chore assistance and case management for low-income elders and adults with disabilities, with the primary goal of ensuring that they retain dignity and residence in the familiar surroundings of their home or apartment. The program is unique in also serving individuals under age 60 who have disabilities. VS foster opportunities for social and civic engagement. VS ensures that vulnerable adults who cannot afford to pay for help they cannot complete on their own, and do not qualify for state paid services receive services that support their health and well-being, and allow them to remain living independently. Coordinates and facilitates the day to day operation of the model Volunteer Services program in the county. Networks with various local agencies, community groups, churches, businesses and individuals to execute the program effectively. Train and recruit volunteers.
