WSA-Texas Rising Star (TRS) Mentor and Assessor - (San Antonio, TX)

Under general supervision, this position’s primary duties will include providing on-site mentoring to early childhood facilities such as, but not limited to, providing direct assistance to help early childhood facilities establish developmentally appropriate learning environments; providing guidance for lesson planning and assisting child care providers improve his or her abilities and skills through observation; conducting assessments and modeling. Additional duties include: guiding, advising and supporting the child care facility in attaining and maintaining Texas Rising Star (TRS) certification and to assist facilities move towards a four (four) Star or National Accreditation status by providing on-going support through professional development and modeling developmentally appropriate practices. Responsible for providing effective assessments for current Texas Rising Star providers and potential providers interested in the Texas Rising Star program.
