Law Enforcement Officer - (Raleigh, NC)

GENERAL SUMMARY Performs general law enforcement and security work to protect life and property in the Airport Authority community. Enforces state laws and local ordinances set forth in the guidelines of RDU Airport Authority policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES ---Performs law enforcement duties to ensure airport security in Airfield Operations Area, remote parking lots and extended jurisdictions of airport property. ---Patrols airports campus in vehicles or on foot. Checks doors and windows and inspects security doors, gates, and other areas. ---Reports dangerous or defective streets, sidewalks, traffic lights or other hazards. ---Investigates unattended bags and other suspicious circumstances. ---Responds to calls for assistance, complaints, suspicious activity, disputes and loud and disruptive behavior. ---Responds to TSA screening staff and makes determinations whether to detain or charge suspicious persons. Prepares non-transferrable item reports.
