About the Plant The Lake City Plant was originally built in 1901 and has been rebuilt (after a fire in 1906), and expanded multiple times. The mill was acquired by Cargill in 1991 and is now part of the Ardent Mills family. Our 40 teammates are proud to be a part of the Lake City community.
