Sow Production Manager - (Carthage, IL)

PROFESSIONAL SWINE Management seeks a Sow Production Manager. Duties: supervise and coordinate animal husbandry activities and the animal care workers. Based out of Carthage, IL. Will provide services at various locations in IL, KS, NE. Reqs Bach. degree or equiv. in Animal Science, Ag Business, or rel. field + 5 years exp. as a Sow Farm Manager. In the alternative, will accept 7 years. exp. as a Sow Farm Manager. Exp. must include: Working in a farrowing to wean facility including breeding, gestation and farrowing flows including artificial insemination and post cervical artificial insemination; Overseeing the animal care and day-to-day management of the animals, along with the expertise to understand and administer proper medication and vaccination per veterinarian protocol; Supervising/training staff on Animal Husbandry skills and ensuring good production through the implementation of SOPs; Performing feed and health management, as well as the coordination of animal movement and shipment.
