The duties of the position are but not limited to the following: Proper animal restraint (dogs, cats, lizards, pocket pets) Obtain blood samples via jugular vein, cephalic vein & lateral saphenous vein Perform fecal tests, urinalysis, ear cytologies and blood smears Perform diagnostic x-rays (radiographs) Perform in-house chemistries and CBCs Administration of medications (Sub Q, IV, PO and IM) Place IV catheters Administer fluid therapy Assisting doctors with performing dental prophylaxis and surgeries Administration of anesthetic drugs and gases Prepping patients for surgery
