Police social worker - emergency services division - (Brattleboro, VT)

Position Purpose : The Police Liaison/Crisis Intervention Specialist (PL/CIS) works embedded in area municipal or Vermont State police departments responding to mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence or other social service related calls with law enforcement, to provide immediate support and resource connection. Provides assessment and coordinates therapeutic intervention services to individuals in crisis. Provides a broad range of assessment, counseling, case management and educational services to individuals and families, including direct mobile emergency response, following the Team 2 approach. Provides consultation and educational services to other community organizations related to primary and secondary prevention efforts as well as in times of crisis The PL/CIS adheres to HCRS policy and complies with federal, state, and local regulations and supports program philosophy.
