Underwriter - Dental - (Durham, NC)

POSITION SUMMARY Blue Cross NC is seeking a highly motivated Underwriter to join our team. This is a Health Underwriting position with a Dental focus. You will underwrite and rate a large group book of business such that all revenue, margin and membership goals are met. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate together with Sales in order to meet goals. * Manage a Book of Business with up to 100,000 members and representing up to $350,000,000 in premium or premium equivalent. * Serve as subject matter expert on team for Group Dental rating. * Work with Underwriters, Sales and Sales Management to coordinate Dental strategy * Represent Underwriting team in cross-functional strategy discussions for Dental and packaged pricing topics * Meet or exceed Business Segment revenue, margin, membership, persistency goals. * Provide consultative service to both internal and external customers.
