General Summary Overview Statement Under general supervision, prepares surfaces and applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces throughout hospital facilities and satellites. Responsible for snow removal as needed. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Receives daily work assignments from Foreman or Assistant Foreman. Reviews work site, planning work process. 2. Prepares work area, moving furniture, assures adequate ventilation, masks around areas being painted, and spreads drop cloths to protect flooring. Mask or remove hardware. 3. Prepares surfaces for painting using sandpaper, wire brushes, cleaning solvents. Compounds defects in wall surface and drywall finish as necessary. 4. Selects appropriate paint, water base, low VOC correct color and quantity, etc. 5. Applies paint and enamel to interior and exterior surfaces, trim, furniture, wood, brick and metal, using paint brushes and/or rollers. 6. Works from step ladders and on staging for certain jobs. 7.
