Group Lead Forensic Scientist - Lenexa, KS Schedule: Wed-Sat, noon-10:30pm Basic Purpose: Monitor, coordinate, and perform the work of laboratory technical and non-technical staff within a designated department in order to expedite workflow and solve production problems. This position is responsible for all aspects of testing specimens including specimen preparation, instrument operation and data interpretation, and may release non-regulated results. Duties and Responsibilities: Must demonstrate proficiency in all principle duties of a Forensic Scientist I, II and/or III. Assist in supervising assigned Forensic Scientists and Laboratory Assistants(?) by monitoring work flow to meet testing schedules; distributing and reviewing work assignments; training employees in laboratory techniques, procedures & company policy; resolving work related problems of staff; and providing input for performance appraisals and disciplinary actions. Works with supervisor to head up the validation of new procedures.
