Some responsibilities for the Welder include welding metal or steel parts by applying heat to permanently fuse the metal or steel together. The Welder would be measured by the percentage of the end product that is free of defects and the total amount of material damaged due to worker error. Responsibilities: Expertise to weld precisely per specifications. Use a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete required tasks Work in semi-confined space with 2 or more welders Stand for long periods of time and work over head using common automotive tools including welding Maintain a clean and organized work area, and maintain all equipment according to established guidelines and quality standards Cross train in other areas of department as needed Maintains regular attendance and excellent punctuality
