Senior Scientist - Pharmacology / ADME - (Rockville, MD)

The position will support Supernus’ drug discovery and preclinical development efforts in the department of Preclinical DMPK and Pharmacology. The experienced scientist will provide strong scientific and hands-on implementation of discovery compound screening assays and translational studies for small molecule drug discovery and development with a focus on CNS disorders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Direct CRO to design and perform timely and cost effective in vitro pharmacology studies, including in vitro receptor binding, enzymatic and cellular functional assays. Custom and perform brain permeability studies, receptor occupancy studies, brain dialysis studies, and in vivo behavioral pharmacology studies for screening discovery compounds and evaluating the drug action. Design and interpret in vivo efficacy studies in animal models of CNS diseases to assess activities of drug applicants including PK/PD. Design hypothesis-driven studies to identify targets and understand mechanism of drug action.
